Katavi National Park is located in Mpanda district currently Katavi region in western Tanzania, with area covered 4471 km sq which makes it the third largest out off 16 national parks in Tanzania. It was established in 1974 located in Katavi region, Tanzania. It is a very remote park that is less frequently visited other than the national parks in Tanzania, also famous as the home for hippos and crocodile.
To reach the park, one has to drive from Dar es Salaam to katavi town or by flighty from Dar es Salaam to katavi air strip or Songwe air port then drive to katavi.
Walking safari this activity allows tourist to walk in the park on foot and enjoying the nature by following or crossing animals walk ways.
Bird watching, among the impressive activity that allows seeing all big and small birds that found in the park.
Game drive, one the ability to have a beautiful view of animals by using the car in the park.

Best time to visit the dry season (may – October) Roads within have greatly been improved and passable during the rainy season (December to February).
