Saadani National Park

Where the bush meets the beach! Located in the centre of the historic triangle of Bagamoyo, Pangani and Zanzibar,

Saandani is the only wildlife sanctuary in East Africa to boast an Indian Ocean beachfront. The climate is coastal, hot and humid It is similar in distance in terms of time to Mikumi National Park. The park offers a outstanding combination of beach and wildlife viewing and possesses all the attributes that make Tanzania's tropical coastline and islands so popular.  However, this is the one place your sunbathing may be interrupted by an elephant strolling past or a lion coming to drink at a nearby waterhole! Saadani is also located almost directly opposite Zanzibar's Stone Town.

Besides the traditional game drive, River Safaris on the mangrove-lined Wami River provides sightings of hippos, crocodiles as well as marine and river birds, including the mangrove kingfisher and lesser flamingo, while the beaches form one of the last major green turtle breeding sites on mainland Tanzania
